A number of things to cover in this update!

First, it's been just over a year since our campaign was fully funded (April 28).  Again, thank you all who supported us so much!  We hope you've enjoyed your books and, more importantly, that you continue telling your friends how much you enjoy the book!

Second, we recently started an Instagram feed at whatwedrinkbook.  There's not a lot there yet, and honestly there are some better cocktail pictures on my personal account, but it should be worth a follow to track some of the drinks we come across at various bars.

Finally, we are doing a low key book event this coming Sunday, May 8, at Haberdasher in downtown San Jose.  This is not the Kickstarter party for the Bay Area that we've promised you all, but it's still an opportunity to meet us both, try a couple of our recipes, and buy extra books for your friends. The Kickstarter party is coming soon, likely within the next month and certainly by the end of June.

If you plan to attend, it would be helpful to let us know through the event page on Facebook.

San Diego Book Launch Party: March 19, 4pm, The Lion's Share

The first of our two book launch parties will be this coming weekend at The Lion's Share restaurant in San Diego! We'll have cocktail specials from the book, a "buy a book, get a cocktail" promotion, some light appetizers, and even a live band!  It should be a ton of fun, and we hope that you can make it.  The party is open to the public, so please do pass this along to your friends and anyone that you think might be interested.  We want to pack the house!

For our San Diego backers who may not have seen this elsewhere, we want to apologize for the last minute notice.  Events and information are primarily being posted to our Facebook page now, and we overlooked posting a notice on Kickstarter as well.

Books available on Amazon!

We are super excited to announce that the hardcover version of the book is now available for purchase both in hardcover and Kindle form on Amazon.com.  If you have a Prime subscription, then you should even be able to get the typical 2 day free shipping that you're accustomed to.

WE HAVE TWO BIG REQUESTS FOR YOU, OUR KICKSTARTER BACKERS:

• Please write a review of our book on the Amazon page.  Hardcover books for backers have already shipped and nearly everyone should have received them by now (if not, please ping us so we can investigate).  While we'd obviously appreciate a positive 5 star review, any honest feedback on the book would be great.  This will help boost our indexing and position on Amazon, which makes it more likely that people browsing will come across the book.
• If you are considering buying any additional books as gifts, please buy them soon on Amazon.  Again, this will help boost our sales rank and the likelihood that people come across the book when searching.

Lots of positive reviews and improvement in our sales rank will also help us sell the book to other independent bookstores and retailers.  If you know a store that you think might carry the book, and especially if you know a buyer for that store, please reach out to us.

We are also in the process of soliciting reviews from various sources that may help us gain more exposure for the book. Again, any contacts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Finally, we have created a Facebook page to promote the book that we'll be regularly updating with new cocktail content.  Please give the page a Like, and if you have friends who might be interested in our book, please suggest that they like the page as well.

Books have shipped!

As promised, over the weekend we packed up all the books for our Kickstarter and BackerKit supporters and delivered them to the post office this morning. They should be arriving soon!

We also mailed a box to an Amazon fulfillment center and I hope the book will be available for sale there very soon! We'll post here once it is with the link that you can share with friends and family.

Tonight (11/19): Bay Area folks may pick up books at Haberdasher

Sorry for the late notice on this, but a couple people asked after the last update...

Tonight, Nov. 19, from approximately 7-9pm, I will be hanging out at Haberdasher in San Jose.  I will bring a small number of books with me for backers to pick up.  If you want to guarantee that there is a book for you to pick up, please e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll make sure to bring and hold one for you.  I am heading to the airport immediately afterward, so unfortunately I can't bring that many books with me and an e-mail would be appreciated.

If you're not in the Bay Area or not able to pick up a book tonight, don't worry...  We'll mail the rest of the books out to backers soon, hopefully early next week.
